BabyComfyNose A Better Snot Sucker Review and Giveaway!
A sick child is bad enough but trying to aspirate a baby's nose while they are squirming and fighting you makes it much worse! I personally hate anything and I repeat, anything near or in my nose so I always feel a little guilty when I need to use it on Caroline. It almost always ends up in a non-effective battle which leaves her upset and still feeling cruddy.
Did you know that there is something easier and less painless than the bulb syringe currently on the market? BabyComfyNose has been dubbed the Better Snot Sucker. It was designed by a physician and is endorsed by man physicians around the country. It is a BPA and Phthalate free aspirator in which the aspirator part is placed in the child's nose and an adult uses a sucking motion to draw the snot out through a straw like tube and into the soft tissue placed within the aspirator. Laboratory testing suggests that healthy human lungs can generate 5-10 times as much suction as commercially available bulb syringes or battery-powered nasal aspirators. Worried about spreading germs? The BabyComfyNose is designed to eliminate any possibility of oral contact with mucus and germs.
My Thoughts:
I will be honest, when I first saw the BabyComfyNose my first thought was "that is very strange looking!". I was a little apprehensive to try it and so was my husband who thought I had seriously lost my mind when I pulled it out of the box. It just so happened that a day or so after it arrived Caroline became congested so we had the opportunity to use it. I am used to the bulb syringe so it took me a little bit to figure out how to effectively use the BabyComfyNose. Once I got the hang of it it was pretty simple and Caroline didn't seem to mind as much as she does with the bulb syringe. Once my husband saw how easy it was he wanted to give it a try and was impressed himself. I also like the fact that it is dishwasher safe and comes with a mesh storage pouch which is allows for hygienic drying. It is small enough to throw into a purse or diaper bag which is definitely nice.
BabyComfyNose comes in two different colors, blue and pink. Each one retails for $14.95 and can be purchased at many retailers around the U.S. It also can be purchased at online retailers such as Amazon, OneStepAhead and Diapers.com.

My tips on keeping my little ones healthy during cold and flu season are: 1. I make sure we all wash our hands frequently. 2. We use antibacterial hand lotion when we're out, especially before eating.

with my baby I nursed him for a long time, and now that he is eating I try to make sure he has adequate nutrition. My daughter eats a healthy balanced diet as well. I stress hand washing, and we try to stay away from people when they are sick.

The best defense is an offense - wash hands. I do try and avoid over sanitizing everything though.
