Great Family Phone: VTech DS6151 Expandable Cordless Phone

Well recently I had the opportunity to review the VTech DS6151 Expandable Cordless Phone, actually I let my parents review it and I played it with it in order to get familiar with it. The reason that I let my parents do the review is because my father is hearing impaired and has a very hard time with finding a phone that he can hear on. They have easily had the same phone for around 20 years, honestly was huge but he could hear on it. In the past numerous phones have been purchased that claimed to be hearing aid compatible but he had yet to find one that was equal to the their old phone. When they first started using this phone my mom left the old phone alone and put this one in their bedroom just in case he had problems hearing with on the VTech DS6151and ofcourse no surprise to me since I know how fantastic VTech phones are he had no problems hearing! This phone has finally been moved into their living room and they are looking to purchase another a second handset for another room in the house.
The VTech DS6151 offers speakerphones on both the base and speakerphone which is super nice. We tried the speaker phone because so many phones sounds terrible on speaker. I had my daughter call me while she was visiting my parents and let me say that I had no idea she was on speaker phone. She was standing around 2 feet away and her voice was crisp and clear. When she reached around 3 feet was when she started sounded like the typical speaker phone sounds.
So many people also depend on the number storage in a phone, I really can't talk much about that since the only phone I store numbers in is my cell phone but I did want to mention that the VTech DS6151 will store 50 phone numbers and it is very easy to program in as long as your follow the directions.
The DS6151 is a 2-Line Expandable Cordless Phone. It is available now for just $79.95. I had an old V-Tech (like you), lasted forever but it's battery finally gave up the ghost! Since I have 3 main extensions in the house, this would be perfect!
