I recently had the opportunity to review "The Conscious Cook" by Tal Ronnen. This book is absolutely amazing to say the least! Even at first glance, flipping through and looking at the recipes I was drooling. Seriously! My daughter and I were marking the recipes we knew we wanted to try. The pictures are so bright and the display of the food really pulls you in.
I will admit that vegetarian cooking to me at first was a little overwhelming. Can you believe that I was actually scared to try it. I had never tried it until my husband and I did a body cleanse back earlier in the year. It was so fun and let me say that we felt amazing afterwards. So for me, I know this type of eating is better for my body but as Tai Ronnen even speaks of. It is hard to stay on this path at first. Eventually your body will completely accept it. I know when did a form of macrobiotics for month and went out to celebrate for our anniversary. Regular foods just simply taste bad and the grease made me so sick. My body really wanted no part of the bad food.
They layout of this book is fantastic! It contains recipes for salads, soups, entrees with other guest chefs and also has a wonderful section on eating seasonally. I am a firm believer that we should try to eat this way, so it is great to see that he has a winter dinner recipe section and a summer dinner section.
