When it arrived, the girls couldn't wait to take it out of the box to give it a try. I will admit though, I was very curious as to how this gadget worked as well.
It was extremely easy to set up. I actually set it up on my netbook and eventhough I don't have a cd drive on it, I was able to download the software needed extremely easy! I would say from taking it out of the box and getting started with exploring took about 10 minutes max. This also counts the download time of the software.
Carson zOrb connects directly to your computer through a USB port, so you are able to view everything on your computer screen and is perfect for magnifying bugs, rocks, fibers, coins, skin, etc. We have tried this on about everything and the kids have really enjoyed it! This ofcourse won't take the place of a microscope that you would use to view slides for say biology but it is an excellent learning tool nonetheless. A favorite feature of mine is that you could easily do a video of what you are magnifying or even take a snapshot. This comes in very handy if the kids need to take a project to school!
The zOrb can be purchased in three great colors: Lava Orange, Safari Green and Surf Blue. It is reasonably priced and some sites did offer free shipping on the Carson zOrb!
Visit Carson Optical and come back here and tell me what other product you would like to try!
Thank you to everyone that took time to enter. The winner is:
