Lysol Disinfecting Spray and Wipes Review and (Giveaway Closed)
With kids starting to slowly go back to school, there is always a concern of them either getting sick or being a carrier. My daughters school started 2 weeks ago and already kids are going home sick. My daughter ofcourse had to join the trend and bring a stomach virus home to us. So the need for Lysol Wipes and Lysol Spray are in demand.I use Lysol wipes daily for cleaning, but let's just say it goes into double time when one of the kids are sick. I am determined that we all not get sick. It is way to hard for the kids and yourself to be sick at the same time. So with this, I wanted to share that the Lyson Brand has teamed up with Dr. Laura Jana, a, a pediatrician, mother of three school aged-children and owner of an educational daycare center. She would like to share her back to school checklist with moms to help them prepare their children for a healthy and happy school year. Her tips include:
The Health administration is predicting a very serious cold and flu season, so teach your children about healthy hygiene habits before they go back to school and get exposed to classroom germs, like MRSA or H1N1 virus. Check out the new educational Web Site for kids, developed in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at oopkids.com. This kid-friendly Web site is designed to educate children about healthy hygiene habits and safety routines.
Send school germs packing by encouraging your children to drop their book bags, take off their shoes and leave their coats at the door when they walk in. Send them straight to the sink to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds (long enough to sing Happy Birthday twice!) while you spray their bags with Lysol Disinfectant Spray to help kill bacteria they may have picked up from the school bus,the playground or the classroom.
I love Lysol Disinfecting Sprays and even the wipes. I always keep a pack of wipes in each bathroom as well as in the kitchen. I also keep a little travel bottle of the Lysol spray in my purse. I hate the thoughts of my two year old touching the yucky shopping carts at the store knowing that he will eventually put his hands in his mouth. To get more information about Lysol and Back to School, check out the Lysol Back to School Information Center at Lysol's Send School Germs Packing website.
Also, be sure to sign up for the Home Solutions Newsletter for important information, and also get valuable Lysol coupons!
WIN,WIN,WIN
Two readers will each win a 12.5 oz Disinfectant Spray and two 40 ct. canisters of Disinfecting Wipes – one for home and one to send to the classroom!
MANDATORY ENTRY:

I am like you- I wipe down the cart before and after go make sure to clean my hands in the car after all is touched in the grocery store. I am amazed at how many moms let their kids chew on the baskets and all.

How to Wash
• Wet your hands and apply liquid,
bar, or powder soap.
• Rub hands together vigorously to
make a lather and scrub all surfaces.
• Continue for 20 seconds! It takes that
long for the soap and scrubbing action
to dislodge and remove stubborn
germs. Need a timer? Imagine singing
“Happy Birthday” all the way through
– twice!
• Rinse hands well under running water.
• Dry your hands using a paper towel or
air dryer.
• If possible, use your paper towel to

Since Swine flu is so worrisome to all right now I chose this question & answer below for what I learned -
Q: How can families protect themselves from Influenza A H1N1?
A: Like all viruses, the best way to help prevent infection and protect your family is to follow proper hygiene routines. These include routines recommended by the CDC Ounce of Prevention Initiative:
Wash your hands: Thoroughly wash your hands throughout the day with soap and water for 20 seconds (the time it takes to sing the "Happy Birthday" song twice), making sure to scrub underneath the nails and the back of the hands. If soap is not readily available, use a hand sanitizer.
Disinfect surfaces: Regularly disinfect the frequently-touched surfaces in your home with a disinfectant to prevent viruses from spreading from surfaces to people.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. And if you yourself are ill, stay home to avoid spreading germs to those around you.
Thank you!

I learned that you should dust with a damp cloth instead of dusting spray or Pledge wipes (which I use.) Interesting.

I learned that viruses cause colds, flu, most sore throats and bronchitis, and also that antibiotics do not help fight viruses. Plus, taking antibiotics when you have a virus may do more harm than good.

I learned more about the difference between cleaning and disinfecting.
As they put it on the website:
It should be remembered that cleaning and disinfecting are not the same thing. Products listed as soaps or cleaners may help to remove germs from surfaces and hands due to mechanical action, but they do not actually kill them. Only products registered as sterilants, disinfectants, sanitizers or antiseptics kill germs. Alcohol hand sanitizers are classified as antiseptics and fall under FDA regulations.
Its a good thing to remember!
