Chia Goodness Breakfast Cereal Review & (Giveaway Closed)

Thursday, October 29, 2009

The tiny chia seed is no longer relegated to ‘70’s nostalgia. Chia packs a nutritional punch that is capturing the attention of health and wellness professionals and savvy parents alike. With five times the calcium of milk, more Omega 3 than salmon or flaxseed, along with protein and a powerful wallop of fiber, chia is a nutritional super hero. It is gluten-free, lactose-free, and low glycemic – so just about anyone can partake of its benefits. Because Omega 3 has been found to sharpen mental focus and concentration, moms and dads are finding it to be the new breakfast food of choice for kids and for themselves. An added bonus? Chia’s soluble fiber content releases energy slowly and consistently into the bloodstream, reducing the craving for sweets and junk food.

My family recently had the opportunity to give this tasty breakfast cereal a try. We tried the Apple Almond Cinnamon and the Cranberry Ginger. I will admit that my favorite was the Apple Almond Cinnamon, but both were fantastic! You can choose to use milk or water in the cereal. I actually chose to use warm water and let it set for 5 minutes. I added nothing to the cereal. I wanted to give it a taste in the simplest form. Let's just say that my taste buds were pleasantly surprised. Chia Goodness tastes absolutely fantastic!I also love it with unsweetened almond milk as well with fresh fruits added!

At first, I was thinking that 2 little tablespoons of this stuff would in no way feel me up or keep me full until the next meal. I was completely wrong about this too! This cereal is so filling and really kept me full longer than other breakfast foods I may eat from time to time. I actually look forward to this great tasting breakfast cereal daily and have already located a distributor in my area so that I can make sure that I won't run out!

Chia Goodness Breakfast Cereal is available in three flavors (Original, Cranberry Ginger, Apple Almond Cinnamon and Chocolate on the way) this delicious raw cereal combines chia with hulled hemp seeds, buckwheat, Celtic Sea Salt®, fruit and nuts. Just add liquid (hot or cold water or milk), and within minutes, Chia Goodness thickens and is ready to eat, no cooking required. It can also be mixed with yogurt, fruit, used as a topping or added to recipes.

Chia Goodness Breakfast Cereal can be purchased online at Ruth's Hemp Foods for approx. $7.50  or you can search online at Ruth's Hemp Foods to find a retailer near you!
