Wal-Mart Your Zone Bedroom Makeover & $500 GC (Giveaway Closed)

My middle daughter just turned 14 this year and her furniture was really getting to be too young for her. She was wanting more "girly" items and more things age appropriate for her. She had been asking for months to redo her room a little bit at a time, so when she was given the opportunity by Wal-Mart and Your Zone to do a room makeover, she was thrilled!
To start the process on how to make over her room, she visited Your Zone and then went into the Design Your Room area. In this area, it allowed her to pick out furniture and decor to give her more of an idea of what the finished product would look like. The Design Your Room area is super easy to use. Here is a little image to show what this area looks like:
For my daughter, let's just say that it took her about a week of mixing and matching items to decide what she wanted and how she wanted it. Even though I was not crazy about some of the pieces she picked out (i would have went with a different style bed for example) it was her makeover and as long as she didn't go too crazy that was fine with me.
Here is what the $500 got us from Walmart and Your Zone with a grand total of $13.00 left over.
She went with the Metal Loft Bed. Let me say that this bed is super heavy. The box had that it weighed 92 pounds. This is a cool bed, but I did try to convince her to get a regular headboard style bed. This Metal Loft Bed is priced at $169.00
The Your Zone Collection Rolling Desk in Maple. It is a perfect size for her room and the large pull out the drawer is perfect for organizing her pencils, paper and other school supplies. This Your Zone Rolling Desk is priced at $90
Your Zone Tractor Style Desk Chair in pink. This chair is priced at $36.00
Your Zone Collection Rolling Storage Cabinet in Maple. This Rolling Storage Cabinet is priced at $90.
Your Zone High Five Floor Lamp. This is an absolutely adorable floor lamp! The High Five Floor Lamp is priced at $19.97.
The Your Zone Plush Curtain Panels. This curtains are a little thick, but work perfectly for her room since the morning sun always shines through her window bright and early. We got two of these panels for her room. Each panel is priced at $14.96
Last but not least the Your Zone Floor Cushion. This Your Zone Floor Cushion is priced at $20.
I was very much impressed with everything that she did get for $500 and the quality seems to be excellent. The reason we chose to go this route with the room was because she had just received a new comforter a few months back and didn't want to change that one out. So we simply designed around the comforter that she already had. There are a few odds and ends that I personally would like to add to her room eventually. Things that caught my eye!

As for the furniture, it was a little time consuming to put together. Honestly though, what furniture isn't? It does appear to be well made and very sturdy. I can see this furniture growing with her through the years. We did opt to have this delivered by using Wal-Mart's convenient site to store option and it arrived earlier than it the suggested arrival date. So that really saved us money going that route as well.
If you are considering giving your teen a room makeover, I would highly recommend the Your Zone products. They are not only affordable but look great!

your zone zzz place to be full bed, walnut is my favorite- the price and all look great , and love the camo blanket. Walmart sure has surprised me by adding some nice looking stuff at amazingly affordable prices...that room makeover is sweet and you could even add a couple chairs to hang underneath the bed or bean bags. She did a great job.

OHH you guys did such a good job on her room!! btw your daughter is beautiful but I have a feeling you already knew this!!
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to get your zone got game lounger for the kids rooms as you know I just adopted 4 and money is tight ,their rooms have beds and a bit on the walls and that is all. There is 6 colors of the your zone got game lounger,!!!! Which would mean all the children could get one each in their own colors!, I'd put it up for Christmas as one of their big gifts! Honest to God this win would be a God Sent one for us! There is exactly 6 diffrent colors for this chair so that would be perfect since we now have 6 kids! I would use the rest and put it to groceries etc for the home. I don't think I've seen a blog with a prize that has me more excited! Just the chance to win is exciting!

Great makeover, I have to say my daughter would adore that loft bed, too. She just turned 13 last month and it's time to retire the "baby" bed..a headboard/footboard I bought years ago at a thrift store, repainted and added decals to. It's too babyish, she says.
Besides the bed, I'd get her the Your Zone Loft Collection Armoire..she's shy on drawer space.

If your going to Dream...Dream Big! My little boy has been sleeping on the the floor for a year because mommy jumped up to sit on his bed and broke it. Money is tight, but this year for his birthday we are buying him the loft bed which he thinks is so cool. I like the your zone zzz place to be full bed, walnut! I want to put it in our guest room (we have one bed in the master and no other furniture for the other 4 bedrooms (mainly because we can't afford furniture!)
