Germy Wormy Review & Giveaway
I recently had the opportunity to give Germy Wormy Disposable Sleeves a try with m kids. The DVD that comes with Germy Wormy is similar to say Seasame Street. It is preformed by these great little puppets that help keeps the attention of a little ones. I am going to say this
and my 13 year old will be embarrassed, but both my 23 month old and 13 year old enjoyed it eventhough the age range is 2-7 y/o. Germy wormy also comes with a great parent guide also. I really wanted to get a demonstration of my son using the Germy Wormy, but the minute the video camera came out, he stopped and wanted to get the camera. He has always used a tissue which is great, but Germy Wormy is even easier.
What is Germy Wormy ?
Germy Wormy is a fantastic product that teaches kids ages 2 - 7 the 3 keys to preventing the spread of germs and illness. This is how it is done:
Unlike the tissue, the elbow is always there. Unlike their hand, the elbow doesn't touch everything. Try touching a surface with your elbow - it is hard to do.

Germy Wormy is a fantastic product that teaches kids ages 2 - 7 the 3 keys to preventing the spread of germs and illness. This is how it is done:
- Cough or sneeze into your elbow - Given that a young child can touch over 300 surfaces in 1/2 hour, the worst place for them to cough and sneeze is their hands. That is a guarantee that the germs will be spread faster than light and soon get everyone around the child sick.
- Keep germs away from your face - In the Germy Wormy Protecting the Fort puppet show on the DVD, Alison learns how she can keep from getting germs from Jimmy by doing Germ Stoppers 5 - the top 5 things kids can do to keep from getting germs and getting sick. Germy Wormy shows kids the actions that they do that can get them sick !
- Germ Stoppers 5 teaches good hand washing practices as one of the keys to illness prevention.
Unlike the tissue, the elbow is always there. Unlike their hand, the elbow doesn't touch everything. Try touching a surface with your elbow - it is hard to do.
- Go from germs everywhere... to germs in one place and tossable.
- Disposable-Toss those Germs in the trash!
- Kids have so much fun "feeding" the Germy Wormy they won't even realize they are learning a healthy habit!
- Protect their clothes
- Catches the germs as they are released so none in the air, none on surfaces
- Kids quickly learn to automatically bring up their elbow when coughs and sneezes suddenly come on

I like that Children do not need to wear a Germy Wormy all day every day, only when they are coughing or sneezing or actively sick. amsbolda@hotmail.com

I liked that it teaches kids how important hand washing is! As a nurse, I know the importance of hand hygiene and try to teach it to my kids, but you can never have too much positive reinforcement of a good idea!

Nail biters beware! The flu virus enters the body through the nose, eyes and mouth. This is a good time to break the habit.
Yikes!!

I like that Germy Wormy not only teaches how not to give germs, but how not to get them as well. Very cute and looks like an efective system for my 3 year old.
