My Baby Can Talk was founded on the principle that babies can communicate at a very early age. Babies are able to communicate at a much earlier age than they are able to speak and research has shown that babies who use sign language tend to speak sooner with larger vocabularies, show an increase in IQ scores and engage in more sophisticated play.My Baby Can Talk Video Series Highlights

We received My Baby Can Talk and I have to say we LOVE this product. The books are great to follow and my son who loves his books will often pick these up to look at. What a great opportunity to not only spend quality time reading to him, but to also teach him signing also. The DVD series really keep his attention because he loves trying to copy the kids in the DVD. I was very impressed how quick he picked up on everything.

"You can begin signing with your baby at any time and your baby is likely to show a great deal of interest in your hand movements from a very young age. However, keep in mind that, on average, the motor skills necessary for babies to sign back to you mature at around 10 months of age."
This would be great for my son.

Sign language gives babies and parents an effective way to communicate at an early age, reducing frustration for both and creating a special bond that is so important for healthy child development.

Preverbal signing has also been shown to reduce the frustration broadly associated with “the terrible twos"
THIS WILL BE AN EXCEPTIONAL GIFT FOR BABY SHOWERS!!
Many Thanks!!

Remember that your baby will prefer speech over signing as soon as she is able to speak. This is because as your baby matures she will use her hands more to play and will not want to put down objects to communicate with you. Speech also allows your baby to still communicate with you when you are unable to see her and as she grows she will naturally tend to wander further away from you. Your baby also lives in a speaking world and will want to be able to communicate in this manner.
I'd love to win this for my baby girl!

Baby Hands Productions has a great website. I love the fact that they have a link on their site where you can look up how to sign individual words! This is tremendous! I also enjoyed reading about the research that is being done on Baby Signing and found it interesting that babies who have been taught sign language scored SIGNIFICANTLY "higher on Marilyn Daniels found that preschoolers who were taught sign language scored significantly higher on the Peabody Vocabulary Test when compared to preschoolers who did not learn sign language." That is an excellent selling point for me!

It allows your baby to communicate wants and needs sooner using signs, speak sooner with the help of signing, and learn more at an earlier age. The more you and your baby communicate, the greater the opportunity for positive interactions and this leads to higher self esteem and self confidence for your baby.
